Hannah McCann

Biography

Ms. McCann focuses on the marketing and sale of commercial properties in the Washington, D.C. area, specializing in the close-in Maryland suburbs of Montgomery County and Prince George’s County, Maryland. She works with owner-operators, investors, and developers with respect to both dispositions and acquisitions, however she is especially excited about her work with owner-operators, specifically local businesses and how the communities they are in have evolved over time with the prevalence of adaptive reuse and historic properties that fall under various preservation initiatives. Ms. McCann began her career in commercial real estate brokerage specializing in leasing, both landlord and tenant representation, and is proud to have put many local businesses in brick-and-mortar locations, helping her clients navigate the process from first leases to first purchases and beyond, establishing an enduring presence in the region’s neighborhoods and communities. Born and raised in Takoma Park, Maryland, she joined Feldman Ruelin 2023. Her early appreciation for innovative commercial development, adaptive reuse, and engaging street-front retail was honed as the founding editor of Architecture DC, the Washington, D.C. chapter of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) publication showcasing local projects. She was also the founding managing editor of Architect magazine which began as an independent publication featuring commercial architecture nationwide and has since become the official journal of the AIA. In her own neighborhood of Silver Spring, Maryland, she founded the Fenton Street Market, a long-running weekly small-business incubator and one of the first Benefit Corporations, or “B Corps,” in the country, for which she received the Montgomery Women’s Rising Star Award. Ms. McCann obtained her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. At Feldman Ruel, she offers her clients a commitment to clear communication, transparency, and creative problem-solving.
